Who is Vladimir Alejandro Urtecho Ortiz?
I was born in Managua, Nicaragua, into a family where hard work was the official language. English came into my life early: first through music and films, then through studies and work, until it became my second language.
I trained in business administration, and during the 2000s I worked in technical and management roles where English was essential every single day: calls, reports, international clients. That's where I discovered something important: you learn a language by using it, not by memorising it.
When I emigrated to Spain and settled in Málaga, friends and colleagues started asking me for help with their English. Those first informal lessons became my vocation — and today they are my full-time profession.

Like every emigrant, the early days meant working at whatever was needed. And in every job the same thing happened: colleagues who, on discovering my English, would ask "hey, could you help me with this?" An interview, an email, an exam. I started giving informal lessons at weekends, in cafés and borrowed living rooms.
From vocation to profession
The informal lessons grew by word of mouth until one day I had to choose. I chose to train properly: language-teaching methodology, the communicative approach, assessment by the levels of the Common European Framework. I set up my classroom on Calle Carretería, opened my online diary and became a full-time teacher.
